RVC Infrafund invests in the engineering company to improve ecology

In December 2015, RVC Infrafund invested funds in the "EKAT" engineering company (Perm) for development and deployment of solutions that reduce polluting emissions in the oil and gas industry and for addressing ecology problems.

"EKAT" company specializes in gas-cleaning solutions for local emission sources in the chemical and metallurgy industries based on the unique technology of toxic contaminant decompounding by plasma and thermo catalysis. The Company successfully operates in Russia and abroad including Germany, Estonia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Belarus. Its customers include affiliated companies of Sibura and Lukoil.

Investments received from RVC are expected to be used for launch of a self-engineered product – energy-saving universal module air and gas emissions clearing system used for the most typical kinds and types of pollution in the oil and gas industry that will significantly improve ecology in regions where oil and gas companies operate.

Company developments allow reduction of nitrogen oxide concentration in emissions at the gas transportation facilities due to implementation of the catalyst clearing systems and automatic waste gas analysers in conjunction with reduction of emissions of the polluting substances. They also solve the problem of the objects' energy efficiency due to disposal of heating energy for further use.

"EKAT" company also got support from the Venture Fund of the Perm region.

«I would like to thank management of the Venture Fund of Perm Region for attracting our attention to such an interesting and promising project, – Alexandr Loktev, Director of the RVC Infrafund states. – Support of regional companies involved in engineering and integration is one of the main purposes of the fund».

Alexandr Makarov, graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Perm State University, Ph.D. in Engineering Science is a founder and director of the company.

"RVC Infrafund investments will ensure extension of the company scope of operation due to integration into the oil and gas industry that is new for us" – Alexandr Makarov, General Director of "EKAT" JSC says. – RVC support will help us set up an efficient international market strategy."
